Season is rapidly approaching!!! Below follows the "TOP Ten Most
Frequently Asked Questions" and the appropriate answers:
10. What
equipment does my child need?
The only equipment that is required is a soccer ball, sneakers or soccer cleats and shin guards. Shin guards are a mandatory requirement through Colorado Youth Soccer, and your child will not be allowed to participate in practices or games until they have them. This is for your child's safety.
9. What size soccer ball does my child need?
Players at the U6 through U10 age groups use a size 4 soccer ball, and U13 use a size 5 soccer ball.
8. What about uniforms?
A jersey deposit of $5.00 is required for each player ( refunded at end of season when jersey is returned.) You can purchase black socks & shorts at the on-site registration on March 14.
7. How many practices are there a week?
This is up to the coach of your team. Usually most teams will practice twice or three times a week.
6. What does my registration fee pay for?
Your registration fees covers fees to Colorado Youth Soccer (the governing body of Youth Soccer in Colorado), insurance through CYS, referees, field usage fees, & team equipment.
5. What are the age cutoff dates for the different divisions?
Players must be 5 years of age by April 15,'06 and 12 years of age or younger by August 1 '05. Players are assigned to each age division as follows:
U-6: 5 year olds
U-8: 6-7 year olds
U-10: 8-9 year olds
U-13: 10-12 year olds
4. Who will notify me of which team my son or daughter has been assigned?
Once the teams have been formed, the coach of the team will notify you of your team assignment as well as when and where your first practice will be held.
3. When will a coach notify me?
The teams will be assigned at the coach's meeting on March 21, with practices scheduled to start the week of the 3rd of April. The coach will call each member of their team during the two weeks between the coach's meeting and beginning of practice.
2. If I don't hear from a coach who should I contact?
